Bennett is HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful day yesterday was!! Late yesterday afternoon, the doctor came in and said he felt good now about sending Bennett home! He was saturating in the mid 90s, even while sleeping! It was actually kind of touch-and-go because after telling me he could come home sating 88 or above, he came back that afternoon and said no, he had to be over 92. I was SO nervous I barely slept the whole night for fear he'd start to desat and buy himself another day in the hospital. But he did GREAT!!!!!

He is doing great at home. He is still on a lot of medications and needs breathing treatments every few hours, but hopefully in a few days he can wean off those too! Now we need to work on his appetite! He weighs just above 15 lbs right now, having lost nearly 1.5 lbs from this hospitalization (he was just over 16.5 lbs when admitted!). This is frustrating because as you know, his weight is a constant uphill battle for us, and now I feel like we've just been knocked back a few pegs. He still isn't eating his normal intake, so hopefully we can help him with that over the weekend. It does not help that my milk supply took a major hit either - from the stress, lack of sleep, lack of privacy to pump, and poor nutrition and hydration over the last week and a half! Bennett hates formula, so I'm pumping like a mad woman trying to get my supply to increase again! Luckily, I'm able to work from home the rest of this week, so I can focus on getting our life back in order before returning to chaos.

In other news....my friend Kelly is bringing her son Trig home after a 4.5 week NICU stay tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooo sooo happy for them! YAY TRIG!!!!

And finally, Bennett wants to wish a very very happy birthday to his Grandma today!
