Weekend Review

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. We've been very busy with Father's Day activities and the boys this weekend.

Bennett's doing awesome!!! He is up to 4 lbs 11.7 oz now! I completely forgot to check what his length was last night. He's starting to take full feedings from the bottle about 50% of the time and he takes almost a full feeding every time he nurses!!!! I nurse twice a day and he gets a bottle twice a day. The other 4 feedings go down his tube to give him a chance to rest.

So today is a big day for Bennett, and we'd sure appreciate all the positive vibes and prayers you can give him today. His doctor is going to "test" him today by cycling him every 3 hours between CPAP and room air. Yep, ROOM AIR - no cannula. No extra oxygen or flow, just the plain old air we breathe! I'm nervous as hell, but I've given this one up to God and I'm just trusting that he will heal Bennett's lungs and what needs to happen will happen when it needs to happen (how's that for a mouth full???). But prayers for strong longs and great oxygen saturation today can only help!! If he does well today, tomorrow it will be extended to every 6 hours. He'll still be on the cannula for extra oxygen when he feeds though, b/c that is still a LOT of work for the little guy!
