Bennet...Bennett...Bennett....

What ARE we going to do with you????

The awesome news is that Bennett has made a lot of progress!!! His oxygen requirement is down to between 1/4 and 1/8 liter, which really is hardly anything but a puff. He was on room air for about an hour today and was doing fine, but when he went down for his nap, he started to desat, so they bumped him up to 1/8 liter. He did good on that until he crashed for the night (literally) and now he is on 1/4 liter again. They scaled back his breathing treatments from every 2 hours to every 4 hours. The doctor said that if things continue to go well, that maybe he can come home on Wednesday. In one instance, I feel so confident about it, and in the next think no way he'll be off oxygen by then. This is so tough!!! He took forever to come off oxygen after he was discharged from the NICU, I'm afraid that will happen again :(

He is definitely back to his happy, active, and mischevious self!!! The hospital brought a tumbling mat into his room so he can get on the floor and crawl and roll and play. He was getting so irritable when the only options were the crib and our arms! And in other news, Bennett has started pulling to stand on the crib rail and getting on his hands and knees like he's ready to take off crawling! He also reaches up for you when he wants you to pick him up! These are all delays he had, but now he's conquered them!!! He is so ready to bust out of this place so he has full range to practice his new skills!!

So, please cross your fingers for Wednesday. We're all so exhausted at this point!

fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed. :-) Also, way to go, Bennett! I'm so happy that he's hitting those milestones.
