Can you Belieeeeeeeve it??? Wow, these past 6 months have gone by so quickly and slowly at the same time!
Yesterday at the Pediatrician, Bennett weighed 12 lbs 4 ounces. He won't have his "official" 6 month appointment for another two weeks, so I won't have the percentiles until then. But yesterday we discussed our feeding concerns with the Pediatrician. She agreed with us that Bennett NEEDS to see a GI specialist now. And she told us to try giving him just straight breastmilk - no fortifier! She thinks maybe he's getting too many calories in a dense amount that he doesn't develop a good hunger instinct. Or perhaps he dislikes the taste. OR, it is very likely that the fortified milk is simply too thick that it takes too much energy for him to drink it. And babies with BPD expend more energy eating anyway. Well, in the first 24 hours of this experiment, Bennett has done VERY well :) But none of our "solutions" work for more than a few weeks anyway, so I'm not going to get too excited.
Here is the birthday boy!!!!!
Thanks for following!!!!

All of those theories make complete sense. This is worth a try and I'll be praying that it is the ticket for Bennett! Happy 1/2 birthday!!!
