I think its E - we've tried so many things! We switched to fortifying the milk with Gentlease this weekend. Bennett definitely seems to like the taste of it better. It smells better! lol. But, unfortunately, it doesn't entice him to actually EAT more!!! His reflux seems to be getting worse by the day. So our Pediatrician prescribed Prevacid for him. Its supposed to prevent the stomach from making acid to begin with. There is some dispute among the "experts" about the proper dosing, so if it doesn't work, we will revisit that issue. I'm praying SO hard this works. We're really running out of ideas here.
Bennett also had a visit by his Developmental Nurse yesterday. He is actually doing better than I thought! He's spot on neurologically and physically, but he is "weak" despite the fact that he can do the things we want him to do. So we need to work on strengthening. His nurse is also very disconcerted about the weight issue. They want to see their preemies gain 2 lbs between every monthly visit and Bennett has only gained a bit over 1 lb since his last appointment two months ago. So she is scheduling him an evaluation with an Occupational Therapist to see if maybe his feeding mechanics need help or if he has a mouth sensitivity. Our Ped. said its very unlikely she'll "find" anything this young, but we are covering our bases and trying what we can!
