Today was an eventful day for Bennett. He had a head ultrasound this morning to check for any brain bleeds (don't have the results yet). Then he had to get a new IV put in his foot for a blood transfusion. Very often in preemies this young, they need a transfusion because they take so much of their blood for tests and they can't make new blood at a fast enough rate. They did the transfusion this afternoon, and did really well. His nurse said he should feel a lot better now.
Other good news is that they lowered his vent setting again and up'd his feedings to 6 mls every 3 hours! I was surprised by the big leap, but pleased!
Over the weekend, Bennett was able to go off the phototherapy lights, so we have been able to see his precious face again! He wakes up every so often and we get a glimpse of his beautiful big eyes! We'll try to get some pics of that, but we are so enthralled when it happens that we never remember to grab the camera until its over!
Bennett LOVES to put his hands up against his head and face - its his soothing mechnism
I just thought this was TOO cute the way he has his hands folded together :)
But I AM his mom, so I think its cute when he does just about anything!

Pray for good results tomorrow from the ultrasound!
